La bahía de Liminka - Centro de Visitantes de la Bahía de Liminka

Liminka Bay, the largest bay in the northernmost parts of the Gulf of Bothnia, is a valuable bird habitat and wetland, even on the European scale. Liminka Bay is a meeting place for many northern and southern species. Annually 200 different species of birds can be seen and more than 160 species nest in the area.
The area of the bay is more than 12,000 hectares. It is included in the Natura 2000 network and is recognized as a wetland of international importance (Ramsar Site). Visitors can enjoy the birds in the five different bird watching towers scattered around the area. Trails run to the bird watching towers and campfire sites are free to use for everybody.
Liminka Bay's attractive visitor centre spotlights the wonderful world of birds. The Eight Seasons of Bird´s Year exhibition presents annual cycle of Liminka Bay from the birds' perspective. The visitor centre has conference facilities, café & restaurant as well as accommodation with fantastic views. Guided tours are also available. The visitor centre and Virkkula birdwatching tower are accessible also for the disabled.
